I adore Brennan's curly curls on the back of his head and dreaded the day he would need his first haircut...my fear was that his curls would be cut off and never grow back again. The day came much quicker than I anticipated...for the record, Brian was advocating for a haircut long before today, so I held out for quite some time. His curls were starting to get a bit matted when he wore a hat or slept funny on it and some days his curls were more like wings...so, off we went to Kiddies Kuts on Saturday. It was a fabulous place for kids...the chairs were cars and airplanes, the walls adorned with tvs playing Peppa Pig and the place full of fun kid toys, stickers, etc. Brennan wouldn't sit in the "fun" chair but once he was on my lap, eating snacks, and watching Peppa for the first time, it literally seemed that he had no idea he was getting his hair cut (except the one time she was trying to get the hair above his ears).
The curls are gone; however, 2 days later, you can see the curls making its way back. He will hopefully always have a bit of the curl in him. :)
