March 22nd marked Brennan's half year mark...what an amazing 6 months it has been. The road we've traveled as parents, as a couple, and as individuals has been rewarding, challenging, inspiring, educational, fun, and determined. We discovered detours, short cuts, and some of the journey has taken longer than other things; however, this ride has been an incredible heart-opening journey in that everyday our lil family of three grows stronger and is so tightly wrapped with love, it feels good, really good.
Brennan is up to a lot of things these days...he's determined to crawl an we believe he'll get there soon. For the time-being, he scoots forward by pushing the front part of his body up and pushing out his bum in the air to bring his knees in and scoot. It's impressive the amount of work he puts into it...his frustration comes out in grunts and loud tones if he can't move as far as he wants.He has a range of facial expressions...my favorite is when he's excited...he brings both hands (in a fist shape) to his mouth and grins from ear to ear.
We are signing with him now and the main ones we think he recognizes are: mama, papa, eat, more, milk, and hi/bye. We are signing with him for 2 reasons; one, so he can communicate with us before he starts talking, and two, so he can talk with Gramma and Grampa Feder. We'll continue the signing long after he talks and make sure there's a lot of Skype signing going on.
Eating, eating, and more eating! He loves food, even the green veggies! We haven't found anything yet that he doesn't like; his menu to as of the beginning of April included: sweet potato, butternut squash, carrots, broccoli, green beans, peas, cauliflower, avocado, pears, apples, mangoes, blueberries and baby rice.
Our lil man is growing so fast...we savor every moment, every smile, every snuggle.
